# Supreet Kaur

> Supreet Kaur is an Associate Professor of Economics (with tenure) at the University of California, Berkeley. She is a development economist whose work overlaps with behavioral and labor economics: how labor markets function in poor countries (wage rigidity, unemployment, labor rationing, the productivity effects of inequality) and how psychological forces such as cognitive limits and social norms shape individual behavior and market outcomes.

She is a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and an affiliate of BREAD, J-PAL, CEGA, IZA and CEPR. She is Scientific Co-Director of the Psychology and Economics of Poverty Initiative at UC Berkeley and CEGA. Contact: supreet@berkeley.edu.
